Sustainable Housing Work is underway

Work has now started on four houses in Hexthorpe purchased by Doncaster Central Development Trust (the Trust) The re-development of the houses will provide new affordable and sustainable homes.

The renovation work is being carried out by C. B. Builders, Murvic Contracts and Wave Form Services. These are all Doncaster based property and development companies were appointed to carry out the re-development works following a competitive tender application.

The re-development will consist of three 2 bedroom homes and one 4 bedroom home. The Trust has also purchased other houses to renovate in the NDC area.

Works on the first two homes are due to complete by the end of May 2010, and will have a wide range of features that allow for affordable and sustainable living.

Jeremy Sherlock, Head of Assets, Doncaster Central Development Trust said: “We are delighted to be involved in this development and it’s great to see that construction work is nearly finished at the site. We are committed to providing top quality homes for NDC residents and newcomers to the area”.

The range of houses will create a mixed community that people want to, and can afford to, live in.”

Louise Peverley has been appointed as the Trusts Housing Manager and is currently working on selecting potential tenants.
