DCDT, the Trust, is a resident-led Community Interest Company which runs the Doncaster NDC (New Deal for Communities) programme 2001-11. It is the ‘successor body’ of Doncaster NDC, which means it will still exist when the NDC funded programme ends in 2011 and will aim to continue the NDC’s work, developing the partnership to deliver on its outcomes.
The Trust has a resident-led board made up of seven local resident directors and seven directors nominated by local agencies, which currently include South Yorkshire Police, Doncaster PCT (Primary Care Trust), Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council – DMBC (the accountable body for the NDC programme).
Development Trusts are community-owned and led enterprises that develop community assets, with the aim of transforming communities for good. The Trust is a member of the DTA (Development Trusts Association), which helps people set up development trusts, helps existing trusts to work more effectively, shares skills and experience and attracts support and investment to the sector.
